Are You Finding Excuses or Finding a Way?

Let me share something with you: I never think that I won’t get the things I want. Now, I’ve always known I have to do the work to earn those things, and that they aren’t going to just be handed to me, but I never feel like I can’t get them. It’s just a little behind-the-scenes into my brain, but I’ve always been a person who would just find a way.

So you can trust me to show you how to stop making excuses and start achieving your business goal.

And you can see where it’s gotten me! As an entrepreneur, I think it’s so crucial to find a way to identify what the important work is, and then do those things with intention. Whether it’s doubling down on your networking and re-engagement, taking a class or looking for a certification, branding your business, or whatever else you need to succeed — putting these strategies into action is what will achieve your goals. All you need to do is find a way to make it happen, instead of finding an excuse for why you shouldn’t try. As a part of my business coaching, I will help you identify what your business goals are and how to achieve them. I will also provide you with a step-by-step guide to stop making excuses and start achieving your business goals.

Some of us are hardwired this way, and finding a route to success will feel natural. On the other hand, some people may lean toward finding excuses because they don’t really believe in their goals, or they may not actually believe they have what it takes to make them realities. So which one are you? Are you a “find an excuse” person or a “find a way” person?

Here are a few quick checkpoints to find out which side you land on.

Do you believe in your goals? When you look around, do you have the things you wanted? Are you in control of your fears, or are your fears controlling you?

If you answer these questions honestly, you’ll have a better sense of where you’re at right now. After all, in order to get where you want to go, you have to know your starting point. If you don’t totally believe in your goals, or if fear is stopping you from taking action or making the progress you want, you may be more of a “find an excuse” person. It’s time to stop making excuses. Start achieving your goals. You need to get honest with yourself and take action.

But the good news is that you have everything you need to change that! You have all the tools you need to become a person who takes action and finds a way. It takes some honest conversation with yourself, which can be tough, but once you’ve got these answers, you can really start to move forward.

I’ve talked before about the importance of being the person you need to be in order to achieve your goals, and this is a great way to determine your starting point for that journey. If you’re letting your own fears take you out of the running for the things you want, you’re 100% guaranteed not to get them. But when you take action — even when it feels like taking a risk — you already have a much stronger shot at success. Fear is the number one thing that stops people from finding their success, and in my opinion, action is the best cure. So stop making excuses and start taking action to achieve your business goals. Have a candid conversation with yourself to figure out what you need to do to take your business to the next level.

Once you become a “find a way” person — or at least show up that way on a good day — you’ll see more and more doors and opportunities open for you and you’ll be able to propel your business to where you want it to be.
